Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 0601 Seaclusion by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
