Getting the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 1903 TinyTwins #1\n\nRomance at: 1903 Twin Cottages close to everything. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
