Getting the best Oak Island vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 302 37th Place E-Private, Dock on Canal w\/Kayaks-3 BR\/2 BA Home-Sleeps 8 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
