Our top Ocean Isle Beach rental property booking tips:

Get the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:

  • Start by having your group commit to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 4 BR Home with ICWW views, Community Pool and Fishing Dock has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
