Strategies for getting the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Sunset Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 510 One bedroom beach\/golf condo with indoor\/outdoor pools and 3 1\/2 Miles to Sunset Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
