Wilmington, NC rental booking tips and tricks:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your Wilmington, NC vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. \"Blue Heaven\" luxury ML condo w\/screened porch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
