How to book the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. ????Hightide- Great Canal and Ocean Views-4 Bedroom???? has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
