Tips to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. ??Tre Sorelle: Canal Front Decks, Boat Slip, Gas Grill. Close to Beach?? has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
