Our top Rental home tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Wrightsville Beach. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Comfortable sound-front duplex near Crystal Pier! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
