Strategies to get the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Family and Dog Friendly Oasis One Block from Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
