A gorgeous half Bath with a highboy toilet and a convenient Laundry Room supplied with pool towels and robes for the hot tub finish out the downstairs space. The doggy door is located in the Laundry Room as well, and that's where you'll find pet dishes (and a few treats for Fido!).

As we talk about Fido, here we should note: Our kitties, Tippy and Molly, live full time in a separate and private apartment on the property, just off the back of the attached garage. They have their own private entrance and side yard, so you may not see them at all... But they may just sneak in for a peek around if you leave the doggy door open. It will be closed when you arrive to discourage them; but if they do slip in, just set them out again and they will get the hint. A caretaker stops by and feeds them daily; but, your privacy will not be disturbed by her. She comes and goes via the private side gate to the private yard and apartment. And both Molly and Tippy are accustomed to dogs and guests, and are friendly to both!

Upstairs a sizable masculine Master Suite with king size bed and new intelligent TV await. The antique wardrobe and hutch provide plenty of guest space, and, basic toiletries are included in the on-suite Bathroom. All linens including additional blankets and pillows are supplied for your stay!

The double sink Hall Bath is likewise supplied with toiletries, first aid kit and even kids's bath toys! Still training a little one? No problem! A training toilet is found in the bathroom closet.

The nursery is kid-proofed and thoughtfully sanitized for each group's stay. In addition to the cozy crib, a full size bottom bunk and an upper single bunk means this room will sleep up to four kids (or three adults)! The Nursery is loaded with toys for all ages and everything you may need for traveling babies and toddlers. Infant supplies like a pack-n-play crib for the beach, stroller, bouncer, carrier and swing can be found in the closet- cleaned, sanitized and ready for your use. Express yourself on the blackboard wall or bang out a new song in the music corner... This room is a blast for little ones!

The Bride's Bedroom is a cavernous feminine bedroom getaway that overlooks the back yard and pool area. With a queen bed, comfy reading chair and elegant handmade area rug, this room is a favorite space for our most honored guests. Many brides have donned their gowns here while peeking out the blackout curtains at their guests gathering below in the backyard.

A fourth bedroom, called simply the Guest's Room, offers a cozy reading chair, Roku TV and double bed.

Please note: We keep a fold out bed with an inflatable bed (full size) that may be used for overflow guests in the game room or family room when they need it. (I warn, the downstairs areas do not offer a great deal of privacy, but it is a comfortable bed and painless to use.) Please request this bed be left out along with the linens and linens if you think you may need it.

We raised four amazing men in this home and over the decades we've welcomed hundreds of friends there to celebrate life and family. A place of tranquility where hospitality is a cherished expression of appreciate and kindness. It is our sincerest want that you feel well cared for the moment you enter and that you leave feeling rested and refreshed in body and spirit. Here you are really welcome!

A few items that must be said:
Note: The pool is not heated year round, but may be heated to a comfortable 83 degrees upon request only. An additional "Heating Fee" of $50 per day will be required. A solar blanket cover has been installed and most months is sufficient to maintain a pleasant temperature, but for the cooler months the propane heat pump extends swim season rather a lot! Please note: The blanket MUST be used at all times when the pool is not in use. It may be effortlessly removed by use of a simple crank that rolls the blanket up and away for swimming and fun time. Thank you for understanding and cooperation.

PLEASE NOTE ALSO: THE BLANKET IS NOT A SOLID COVER AND WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY WEIGHT WHATSOEVER! CHILDREN AND FAMILY FAMILY PETS SHOULD BE SUPERVISED CLOSELY TO GUARD AGAINST ACCIDENTS! THE BLANKET WILL MAKE ESCAPE FROM FALL VERY DIFFICULT, AND MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH! PLEASE BE WARY AND KEEP AN EYE ON CHILDREN AND PETS!

PLEASE NOTE: In regards to Fido... Our neighborhood has numerous kids and pets; therefore, ONLY safe breeds are allowed. If you are unsure if this definition will include your pet, please ask. We are real dog lovers and have appreciated nearly every breed in our family through the years; but, not all dogs and not all dog owners are alike. Therefore; all pets MUST BE accurately described as cat and kid friendly. Ours is a family neighborhood where you'll see many people appreciating a bicycle ride or walk with their pets. So pets MUST be well behaved and friendly under ALL circumstances. This we require without exception. And finally ONLY two pets per visit are allowed please. (This is outlined in the attached Short Term Rental Agreement, which we require all guests review prior to booking.) Guests with pets that mark and/or soil carpets or furnishings WILL be charged any and all additional cleaning costs from their deposit; and, guests with pets that do not meet the guidelines specified herein will be asked to leave without refund.

Please note as well: Every person who lives on our cul-de-sac is reasonable, hospitable and kind. This being said we too try to be good neighbors and insist that our guests follow neighborhood rules and policies during their stay. The posted max. neighborhood speed limit is 25 miles per hour due to the high volume of kids and pets. PLEASE respect this policy! Neighborhood peaceful hours are 10PM through 8AM and are STRICTLY ENFORCED. Our neighbors will definitely call me if they feel guests are not complying with these rules and policies, as I have asked them to do so. Please rest assured, I understand that vacation time can become loud and rambunctious, so I will always give my guests a heads up call first... But repeat non-compliance with peaceful hours will result in eviction and surrender of all deposits. So please be respectful. (Neighborhood rules are outlined in the attached Short Term Rental Agreement, which we require all guests review prior to booking.)

Before booking PLEASE take time to download and review the Short Term Rental Agreement, where more detailed information can be found.

Thanks for looking and we hope to host you soon!

Wilmington, NC rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Wilmington. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Family Retreat w\/ Heated Pool, Hot Tub & RV Hookup -15min to Wrightsville Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
