Sunset Beach rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Amazing Sunset Beach canal home - Kayak, paddleboard, bring your boat & jetskis has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
