Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Ocean Isle Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Start by having your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. OIB EAST END ~New Upscale Home~ Ocean Views-Private Pool-Steps to Beach-FAMILY has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
