Finding the best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Start by having your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Harbour Grace-Your happy place has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
