Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Island Park-West End of OIB has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
