Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Filmed for HGTV! 5 STARS! Updated, contemporary, relaxing, refreshed & clean. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
