Strategies to get the optimal Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Large Oceanfront Home in Private Community with Private Pool has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
