Strategies to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Nemo's Place: 2 Single Kayaks, 5 Bicycles and Room for Outdoor Entertaining has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
