Carolina Beach vacation rental booking tips:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Newly renovated Beach House on Carolina Beach, PET FRIENDLY with BOAT PARKING! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
