Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oak Tree Bungalow - Relaxed Island Living has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
