Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Villa 22 Sleeps 8 Water, Golf, and Sunset Views Bhi Club has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
