Tricks and tips for getting the best Holden Beach vacation property experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront - Sunny inside and out! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
