Tricks and tips to get the very best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Casa de Flip Flop-Oceanfront 3rd Floor Condo, Great views and pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
