Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. See The Sea: Oceanview beach cottage in East Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
