Strategies to get the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Payneless: 4 Bed \/ 4 Bath with Panoramic Views, Gourmet Kitchen Close to Lightho has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
