Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in Carolina Beach:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 1 Minute Walk To Beach - Pelican's Perch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
