Wilmington vacation rental tips:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wilmington. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • First, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly Family Oasis w\/Hot Tub & Fireplace\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
