Getting the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Barking Allowed! \nPet friendly studio, located right next to dog spa! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
