How to get the best value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in Oak Island. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a max budget.

  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
