Finding the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in Bald Head Island. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Renovated Ocean View Home, 3 Bedrooms Bald Head Island, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
