Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing a perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sandy Knights 2 Blocks From the Boardwalk has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
