Finding the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Seabreeze Away - Pool - Fire Pit - Close 2 Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
