Booking the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Quintessential Beach Cottage 1 Back from Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
