Wilmington, NC vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Holden Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Hobbs Realty - The \"Sandlapper\" is an oceanfront home with two living areas and handicap ramps. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
