About this Property

  • Sleeps 12
  • 6 Bedrooms
  • 6 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 3601 square feet

This 3600 sq ft home is located on the marsh, overlooking the InterCoastal waterway and just a short walk to the ocean. From the sizable deck on the back of the home, your vistas are of nature at work with the ebb and flow of the tides and the interplay of the native wildlife. You will have ideal privacy. The home is located at an angle and the nearest homes are but distant, beautiful properties.

"Just Coastin" is a unique property -- really a home and a half! There is a main home with a separate, but attached "guest home" or annex. If you have some people with you who tend to run on either an earlier or later schedule than everybody else, this is the place for you! The guest home has a downstairs living area with a huge TV, DVD player and full bath. There is an upstairs loft with a queen bed and sitting area. The view from this bed is striking!

The main home has four bedrooms -- two master bedrooms with queen beds and giant bathrooms with huge showers. The two additional bedrooms have twin beds. One twin room has the beds constructed in, resembling those aboard a ship! The twin rooms share a enormous bath with a tub/shower.

Downstairs there is a separate TV room with a huge sectional couch There is a pull-out full-size bed for additional sleeping -- best for modest kids. There are no linens supplied for this bed. There are pocket doors to this room which help keep the T.V./movie sounds contained. There is another sizable living area with matching leather couches flanking a gas fireplace. Behind the couches, there is an additional seating area with chairs for reading. The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and an electric cooktop. The cupboards are well outfitted with dishes, glasses, pots and pans and additional cookware, baking dishes, etc. There are two half baths downstairs.

Off the main living area, there is a large, gorgeous screened porch. This porch has a couch, glider adore seat and two single glider chairs. The ocean provides an nearly constant breeze and you will find this is a delightful place to sit and chat, play games or read a book. At nighttime, the screens keep the bugs at bay while you appreciate the outdoors.

The entire back side of the home has a large deck which has seven rocking chairs along with an additional table and chairs for meals outside. This is where your crowd will congregate. Those seeking shade will find it here, but can still feel part of whatever is going on poolside while rocking away. Upstairs, the two master bedrooms have balconies which overlook the pool area and marsh and have adirondack chairs.

The backyard pool is the highlight of the home! The biggest private pool on the island, it is forty feet long and eight feet deep at the deep end. You and your guests can savor playing pool games, getting in a real swim or just floating! Parlor chairs and tables surround the pool. If it gets too hot, there is a shade structure and additional shade available under the deck. A gas grille is supplied to help you create those memorable beach week meals.

There is an outside shower with hot and cold water underneath the home with an enclosed changing area. Additionally, there is a large guest closet which can hold your chairs, umbrellas, bicycles and other toys. Inside the closet you will also find a charcoal grille available for your use. There are places here for everybody and everything you can think of!

"Just Coastin" is located in Pointe West, a private subdivision on the western end of the island. Pointe West amenities included a private walkway to the beach. The beach is wide and sandy and never gets busy. There is also a neighborhood dock with a fishing platform for you to enjoy.

If you have any questions about our property, please feel complimentary to call me. I can be reached at 919-602-3250. When you are staying here at the beach, the property is managed by Donna Melville. She can be reached at 910-660-3955. Donna lives year-round just off the island. Her husband, James Lutz, is an extraordinary handyman. It's so nice to have such a valuable resource available should anything break down during the season!

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and picking the perfectrental home:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Largest Private Pool on Island, 3600 sq ft offering, Privacy, Luxury and Views has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
