About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this condo is near the beach. Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Carolina Beach Boardwalk are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Tips for getting the best rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

• Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
• Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
• Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

• Choose your dates and spending budget.
• Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Welcome to Treetop at Timber Creek has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
• Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
• Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
• If there's a particular Wilmington, NC beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
• Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

• Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
• Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
• Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
• Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
• Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
• Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
• Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
