Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. \"A WAVE from it ALL!\" SEA everything you DREAM of! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
