Booking the best vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 2B\/2BA First-floor Oceanfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
