Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 4 BR, 4 BA Top Floor Oceanview with Oceanfront Pool\/Beach Club has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
