Tips to get the very best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Wilmington, NC restaurants and activities.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Aqua Bella Upper - cute old school beach apartment in downtown CB has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
