Strategies to get the best Wilmington rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Wilmington. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Cape Fear Coastal Hide-A-Way has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
