Tips and Tricks to get the best Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the right Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Time to hit the beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
