Wilmington rental home booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking the right Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Cozy House Located in downtown Wilmington city center has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
