The next time you have some Daze Off, we know you'll want to spend them at this inviting third row beach home located on Oak Island's West End! Porches and stairs painted in traditional haint blue encourage you to lighten your load and soak in the good vibes as you recharge and relax.

When you walk into the open-concept living space, calm coastal colors that play on the sand and sea beyond envelope you. The living room lets in plenty of natural light, and white-painted cathedral ceilings add to the airy feel. Sink into the comfortable couch, loveseat and recliner to stream the latest blockbuster on the enormous wall-mounted Intelligent TV. The sturdy wooden dining table will seat six or more, thanks to the flexibility of bench seating along one side of the table, and four additional seats are available at the adjacent kitchen counter. The kitchen is completely equipped and features stainless-steel appliances and plenty of counterspace.

Behind the kitchen, a short hall leads to a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo located between two bedrooms. The oceanside bedroom features a queen bed and a flatscreen TV with Roku for personal entertainment. The soundside bedroom is furnished with two double beds. Off the living room, a second hallway provides a full bathroom with a step in shower and two further bedrooms. The first bedroom has two twin beds, and the second has a king bed. Each of these bedrooms is also equipped with a vanity, providing additional space to get ready to head out to shopping or dinner after a day spent on the beach. All bedrooms in the home have a ceiling fan for your comfort.

Upstairs, you'll find the impressive and roomy master suite. This relaxing getaway features a king bed, two sitting areas and a Intelligent TV. An office nook complete with a monitor and printer provides a convenient spot to catch up on e-mails or work remotely as needed. The attached private bathroom contains both a step in tile shower and a massive garden tub for soaking away any aches after days filled with adventure. Finest of all, there is direct access to two private decks, one on the sound side and another ocean side, equipped with a variety of outdoor furnishings for both calming and dining.

There's plenty of outdoor space for the rest of the family to appreciate as well, starting with the wrap around porch, which is partially covered on both the front and rear sections and furnished with plenty of classic rocking chairs and end tables. Cook out on the included gas grille while the kids play in the fenced backyard. There's also an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water, which makes rinsing sand off a breeze. Convenient to both the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, you can walk south to the public beach access at The Point or north to savor a meal at trendy waterfront eatery Lonerider's. You can even save some space when packing for your trip, as this home provides beach chairs, an umbrella and beach toys for your use. Book now and ensure your Daze Off this year are ones you'll remember forever!

Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Daze Off: Spacious Home in Walking Distance to Beach and Waterway has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
