Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Easy Breezy - Ocean Front Condo with Pool & Amazing Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
