Vacation rental home tips:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Carolina Beach. To find the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Wilmington, NC attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book your prefectrental home:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Remodeled sound front home w dock, boat slip has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
