Welcome to a Shore Foundation. This vacation home is the Foundation of fun times with appreciated ones by the Shore. Positioned on the 2nd row, grab the beach cart & chairs & head to the shellabration across the street. Since you have such a short walk, you don’t have to search or pay for parking. On the ground level are highlights of the property. The saltwater pool, hot tub, sectional wicker seating & bar with TV will make you want to call the cabana boy for your pina colada. From the 2 Front Decks you have an ocean view. Go ahead, check the surf. With the Ocean Crest Pier just a short drive away, you can pull up it’s web cam. Since OKI is a South facing beach, the sun rises & sets over the water. From the decks, you get photo worthy vistas. Back decks are also on 2 levels & overlook the pool activities. Drive under the covered parking & unload your suitcases & provisions straight into the elevator. No lugging heavy bags up the steps.

The Upper Level has the modern design of a reverse floorplan to maximize ocean vistas. It is a light & airy open plan living/dining/kitchen. The glass door & multiple huge windows give a variety of beautiful daytime & sunset vistas. Indoors you may choose to sit at the 8 seat dining table or at one of the 4 seats at the kitchen island. On those handsome blue sky days OKI is known for, savor the outdoor table on the deck & dine alfresco. This vacation home is definitely kid friendly: Pack ’n Play, highchair, kid-sized plates/silverware & even a kid-sized table with benches next to the dining table. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating, sectional couch & upholstered chair, with a sizable screen TV to watch your favorite shows. The well-outfitted kitchen includes: a Duo Keurig k-cup & drip coffee maker, griddle, Ninja blender (perhaps those pina coladas are possible after all!), Cuisinart stand mixer with all the attachments, 4 slice toaster & in an adjoining closet is a drink cooler.

On the Lower Level there are 4 bedrooms & 3 full baths. The Lower Level front deck is covered & has a daybed swing just calling out for a snooze. Let the sound of the waves kissing the shore lull you to sleep. Also on that deck is an open air area with a glider for those who appreciate to sway & feel the warm sunshine on their face. The lower covered back deck has a view of the pool with 2 Southern rockers & a bar height table. Bring out your coffee in the mornings & listen to the call of the gulls. With sliding glass door access to the back deck is an additional bedroom with a queen pull out couch that also serves as an entertainment room with a enormous screen TV, a dry bar, and a beverage cooler.

Upstairs in addition to the 3 bedrooms & 2 full baths, is a half bath right off the dining/kitchen areas. The upper front deck has a 6 seat table with a view of the ocean. The upper level back deck has a view of the pool & 2 rockers with a bar height table. This deck is not covered so you can sit here in the evenings to see the wonders of the nighttime sky above you. As a modest family beach, we don’t have the bright lights of the city which hide the stars.

Lower Level Bedrooms: #1 – Primary: Ocean view, king, en suite (huge shower, double vanity), huge walk-in closet, door to front deck; #2 – king, sliding glass door to back deck, hall bath (tub/shower); #3 – ocean view, queen, beside door to front deck; #4 – Bunk Room: Twin/Double, Twin Triple Bunk; Jack & Jill Bath shared by #3 & #4; Upper Level: #5 – Primary: Oceanview, clerestory windows which illuminate the room, king, en suite (sizable shower, double vanity), large walk-in closet; #6 & #7 – Queen, Hall Bath; All Bedrooms have Dressers/Closets & Intelligent TVs (except Bedroom #4).

Short Drive to Eateries, 3 Grocery Stores, Shopping, OKI Gym (weekly & daily drop-ins), 2 Piers, Landmark OKI Lighthouse (schedule Tours ahead online); the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Preserve. Seasonal: Summer Concert Venue with Food Trucks, Splash Pad & Skateboard Park; 39th Place W. - Free Public Entry Point to Paddle the Davis Canal/Montgomery Slough. Local Units of Kayaks, Paddleboards & Bicycles.

All iTrip Properties have a Complementary “First Nighttime Essentials” Bag. Beds will be made when you arrive. Also, with iTrip, sheets & towels (kitchen & bath) are included at no additional cost.

This vacation home does not feel like a rental but more of a resort. After a day at the beach (just across the street) in the sand & sun, the fun doesn’t end. Whether it’s the pool, hot tub or swaying in the daybed swing with that book you’ve been wanting to read, there are so many amenities that you may not be able to pick your favorite.

Vacation rental tips:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 15% Off Through May 15- Amazing Ocean Views, Pet Friendly, Heated Salt Water Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator has 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
