Getting the best vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Quaint duplex w fenced yard near Johnnie Mercers has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
