The home itself has a striking front porch with a porch swing and rocking chairs, the ideal coffee spot for your friends and family! The crowd favorite is your own personal bar, The Lazy Lookout Parlor. This unique outdoor area comes with a full-sized refrigerator, an ice machine, and even a 60 inch intelligent TV.

Also, we have included surfboards, body boards, loads of sand toys, and beach games to make sure you get the most out of Oak Island! We ask that you bring your own sheets and towels or there is an option to add linen services 30 days before your arrival. The linen service includes fresh sheets and towels for the price of $150. If you find that during your stay you need fresh clothes or towels there is a laundry room downstairs for your use. It is supplied with laundry detergent and dryer sheets! Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental in Oak Island:

  • Start by having your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Loving the Lazy Lookout ??Beachview\/Access and Pet Friendly??4BR, 2 BA has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
