Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wrightsville Beach. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Luxurious 8br home: Ocean views, elevators, walk to local shops and restaurants! has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
